MARILYN - ADMIN

Hello! My name is Marilyn Mancusi. I am one of the admins here at Center of Attention Cheer and Dance in Brentwood. I would like to introduce myself briefly and tell you a little about me. I am the mother to six amazing children ranging in the ages of 18 – 3 years old. Two of my children are currently athletes here in this amazing cheer and dance program, while my oldest is preparing to go to college as a student cheer/stunt athlete. My family and I have dedicated our lives to the cheer and dance world for nearly 12 years! It’s a passion of ours and something we value very much.

Another passion I have is working in the community with the youth. I am also a youth counselor for the REACH project in the Brentwood Police Department. I currently work with teens in the Liberty Union High School District. I have found this work to be very rewarding and a crucial part to a healthy community. My passion for cheer and dance along with working with the youth has been a huge reason why I wanted to step into a role here at the gym. Center of Attention Cheer and Dance is a program I believe in wholeheartedly and I am so excited to make connections with current/new athletes and their families.

JOSEPHINE - COACH

Hi everyone ! My name is Josephine, I’m 19 years old and have danced competitively for 5 years. Once I aged out I was lucky to be recruited by my coaches to join the staff. I now have the privilege of coaching Center of Attentions 10u hip hop, and theme team. I never imagined how amazing it would feel to help my girls succeed. It brings me more joy to see them have fun and love what they’re doing than when I was competing myself. I can’t wait to see how much COA grows in the future. I am grateful to be a part of this amazing program and coach beside all our amazing staff.

NYA - COACH

At Center Of Attention, I coach competition cheer, stunt, and flex classes. When I’m not at the gym coaching I am working for JAMZ Cheer & Dance. I’ve been working at JAMZ since 2020 and I have improved my stunting, dance, & tumbling knowledge. This dedication has improved my coaching skills and has deepened my love for the sport.

JAMI - COACH

My passion for cheer ignited at just four years old. I cheered for fourteen years, and quickly became a coach thereafter. Being able to help guide and support my athletes’ growth on and off the mat is one of my main goals and greatest accomplishments. MADA - REC DIRECTOR

Coach Mada entered the world of gymnastics and tumbling at 7 years old. She joined her first school cheerleading team at 12 years old and transitioned the following year to a level 4 competitive cheer team where she truly fell in love with the sport. For the following 9 years she participated in all-star cheerleading where she was an athlete on multiple level 5 teams and competed at The Cheerleading Worlds.

She began her first year of coaching tumbling and cheerleading at 15 years old and became certified to coach levels 1-5 of tumbling early on. After many successful years of coaching, she still has the same passion for the two sports today.

In a brief break from her cheerleading and coaching career, Coach Mada worked at a physical therapy clinic as well as an orthopedic surgery center while obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. In her coaching today she enjoys incorporating this knowledge to her private lessons, tumbling classes, or cheer practices.

DANIELLE - OFFICE MANAGER

Hello! My name is Danielle; Office Manager stationed at our Sacramento location. My first introduction into the cheer and dance world was through my daughter who has cheered for 10 years+. I have a background in working with several non-profit organizations and greater Sacramento area school districts as a program coordinator. I have experience facilitating workshops centered around healthy eating and physical activity as well as coordinating health fairs with partner organizations. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and food and hold a Master of Public Health degree.

I stumbled on this administrative position and was so happy that I interviewed! I am not sure how to express how much of a blessing it is to see athletes come in not feeling super sure about what they are getting themselves into or if they will fit in or have what it takes only to end the season with so much confidence. I am super thankful to be able to have front-row tickets to their amazing transformation. Since coming into this position, the staff has worked to improve the atmosphere and culture in our gym by ensuring there is always transparency with parents. I pride myself on delivering quality service and communication with the hopes of your experience being one of a kind. Thank you for trusting COA as your premiere cheer and dance gym!
